Our History
Founded in 1963 in Torreon Mexico, Maquinaria y Laminados SA de CV (Mylsa) opened its doors for business with the initial goal of manufacturing ice plant equipment. As a family owned and managed business, Mylsa soon found opportunities in the energy industry and began fabrication of air preheater baskets in 1965. Since then, still under Reed family ownership and management, Mylsa has been continuously growing and improving. In 1988 Mylsa was certified by the Hartford Steam Boiler Company for ASME Pressure Vessel U Stamp. In 2001 Mylsa became ISO:9000 certified. Mylsa focused its early years in the air preheater business in Mexico. In 1997 we exported our first baskets to the US and in 1999 we fabricated our first filter house project for gas turbines.

Today Mylsa is a seasoned exporter of specialized steel fabricated goods, as well as a top of the line designer, erector and fabricator of Ljungstrom-style air preheaters.

Our manufacturing branch has been focused on the energy industry but has also works with several other industries like paper, automotive, wood products, etc. We are eager to find more products that fit our capabilities and our competitive advantages.
Our Air preheater branch is now able to design, select, manufacture and install complete air preheaters. We are now focusing on solving the leakage problem in air preheaters and we are confident that our solution is unique in the industry in offering the most efficient system.
